Dinosaur Story: Jaja the Dinosaur Learns to Swim

Little Dinosaur Jaja is a cute young pterosaur who loves eating small fish, flying around in the sky, and quietly squatting by the lake… Wait, squatting by the lake? Why?

As it turns out, Jaja has a little secret: he really envies the ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs who can play freely in the water. For Jaja, going for a swim and playing in the water would be incredibly wonderful. However, Jaja is too afraid to go into the water because he doesn’t know how to swim, which makes him very sad. Finally, one day, Jaja couldn’t sit still anymore. He put on his swimming goggles and swim cap and thought, “I must learn to swim today.”

What tools might be needed to learn to swim?

A kickboard?

But Jaja was too heavy. As soon as he lay on the kickboard, it sank, and Jaja fell into the water, gulping down several mouthfuls and feeling very scared!

A swim ring?

But where should he put the swim ring? Around his neck? His wings? His legs? Or should he wear it all over?

Then maybe a life jacket.

But the life jacket seemed a bit small. Jaja struggled to put it on, but as soon as he moved his wings, “Rip!” the life jacket tore in half.

So, from morning to afternoon and into the evening, Jaja kept trying but couldn’t learn anything. He was very sad!

A little ichthyosaur came over and said, “Jaja, you don’t necessarily have to swim underwater. You can swim on the surface of the water!”

“Swim on the surface? How do I do that?” Jaja didn’t quite understand.

“Aren’t you able to fly? Try flying close to the water’s surface and see how it feels.”

Flying close to the water’s surface? Jaja hadn’t thought of that, but it sounded good.

Jaja took off from a distance, gradually getting closer to the water’s surface. Wow, it was so cool and comfortable! The lake water was gentle and soft, like a cradle from his childhood. Look, there were even small fish in the water!

Now, Jaja loves swimming on the surface of the water. He can play in the water, catch small fish, and fly around. How wonderful!

Sometimes, a small change can bring you a delightful surprise!
