Daddy, I Love You

The summer night quietly arrived, and little pigs Robbie, Robin, Rock, and Roro sat in the yard waiting for their dad to come home.

Robbie sighed and said, “Why didn’t mom take us to grandma’s? I don’t like staying with dad; he’s always busy and doesn’t play with us or talk to us.” Robin sighed too and said, “Yeah, and tonight we won’t get to eat mom’s fruit pie. It’s boring to eat with dad.”

The four little pigs sat there, worried and waiting. Suddenly, the third pig, Rock, jumped up and said, “Let’s all hide!”

So, when Daddy Pig came home with a big basket of vegetables and fruits, he didn’t see any piglets around. “Hmm, where have the little ones gone?” Daddy Pig looked carefully—oh, there was a little tail sticking out from under the washbasin, a small ear caught in the big box, and a piece of a flowered shirt peeking out from the closet door… none of the little pigs had hidden well.

Daddy Pig pretended not to see them and said loudly, “My darlings must have gone out to play, so I’ll start making dinner—let’s have fruit pie.” Daddy Pig busied himself in the kitchen, and the sweet aroma of fruit wafted through the air, reaching the noses of the four little pigs, making their mouths water.

When the delicious fruit pie was ready, Daddy Pig placed it on the dining table and pretended to be sad, saying, “Oh, the kids still aren’t back. I’m always busy with work and forget to pay attention to my darlings. Now they don’t want to eat with me anymore.”

The four little pigs’ noses tingled with sadness upon hearing Daddy’s words. Robbie was the first to rush out, throwing himself onto Daddy Pig, and shouted, “Daddy, I love you!”

The other little pigs also ran out and hugged Daddy Pig, shouting, “Daddy, I love you!”
