Creative children fiction: The Bear Lays Out Dreams to Dry
Under a clear, blue sky with no clouds in sight, sunlight filters through the gaps in the tree leaves, filling the little bear’s home with light. The little bear opens the door and exclaims, “What a sunny day!”
Back inside, the little bear picks up its pillow and says, “The weather is so nice, it’s perfect for laying out dreams to dry. Otherwise, they’ll get damp.”
Dreams start to float out from the pillow. The little bear gently spreads them out, letting the sunlight bathe them. The dreams take on a golden hue. The little bear cheerfully says, “My dreams now have the scent of sunshine.”
The little bear loves dreaming so much that dreams cover the entire yard. Suddenly, a gust of wind blows, and the dreams start to drift away! The little bear shouts, “Come back!” But the dreams seem to grow wings and fly even farther.
The dreams drift to the squirrel’s home, where Mr. Squirrel has a sweet dream. In his dream, Mr. Squirrel’s grandmother is playing with a little squirrel, laughing joyfully. Mr. Squirrel wakes up, wiping tears from his face. His grandmother had recently passed away after a serious illness.
Mr. Squirrel looks up at the sky and sees a cloud that resembles his grandmother, slowly being carried away by the wind.
The dreams then reach the pond, where the fish have delightful dreams. It’s said that fish have very short memories, so this is their first time dreaming! In their dreams, they see the little bear holding a magic wand, conjuring up lots of delicious food. They eat and chat happily. When they wake up, the fish blow bubbles and say, “Dreaming is so much fun!”
The dreams drift to the panda’s home, where the panda has a deep sleep. Lately, the panda hasn’t been able to sleep well and has developed dark circles under its eyes. Finally, today it can sleep soundly.
Some dreams drift to the rice fields, others to the valleys, and one dream drifts back to the little bear. By then, it is already dark, and the little bear is just lying down on its soft bed.
The little bear has a warm dream. In it, the weather is sunny, and dreams are spread out in the yard to dry. It also dreams of a gust of wind coming and carrying the dreams away, like they’ve grown golden wings and flown off…
