Children’s story about fishing

In the beautiful big forest, lived the Little Bear Beibei and his family.

Little Bear Beibei was mischievous, cute, and robust. He spent his days playing happily and carefree in the forest. One day, Beibei, tired from playing, ran home holding his hungry stomach and said to Mama Bear, “Mom! I’m hungry. I want to eat fish.”

Mama Bear smiled, patting Beibei’s head, and said, “Wait a bit, I’ll help you catch some fish once I finish my chores.”

Beibei jumped up and down beside his mother, saying, “Mom! Mom! I’ve grown up, I want to catch the fish myself.”

Mama Bear was surprised, but she nodded and said, “My baby has really grown up. Be careful then.”

“I know,” Beibei cheered and ran towards the river. At the river, he looked into the water and exclaimed, “Wow! So many little fish!” He hurriedly reached into the water, but the slippery fish kept escaping his grasp. Finally, he caught one, but before he could bring it to his mouth, it fell back into the water with a splash.

Beibei was angry and slapped the water hard, making the once-clear river muddy. Now, there were no fish to be seen, and in frustration, he sat by the river and cried.

Hearing Beibei’s cries, Mama Bear quickly came over and asked, “Oh my baby, why are you crying?”

Beibei, feeling wronged, threw himself into Mama Bear’s arms and said, “Mom! I… I didn’t catch any fish, and I made the water dirty. Now all the fish are gone, and I can’t eat any tasty fish.”

Mama Bear laughed and said, “Silly child, look at the water.”

Curious, Beibei poked his head out from Mama Bear’s embrace. Oh? The water was clear again, and he could see many little fish swimming around. But he quickly frowned again and said, “Oh… Even if there are lots of fish, they’re too slippery for me to catch.”

Mama Bear patted Beibei’s head and said, “Silly child! You need patience for everything you do. If you get scared of failure and don’t try again, you will stay hungry.”

Beibei pouted and said, “But I really can’t catch them!”

Mama Bear walked to the riverbank and quietly crouched down, slowly reaching into the water. Suddenly, with a swift motion, she caught a fish in her hand.

Beibei was amazed by Mama Bear’s actions. He imitated her, trying to catch fish. When he failed, he tried again. Several times, he caught the fish’s tail, but they slipped away. Beibei started to get impatient. He looked back and saw Mama Bear watching him with encouraging eyes.

Gaining courage, he reached into the water again. This time, he caught a fish firmly. The fish struggled, but it couldn’t escape Beibei’s grasp. Beibei happily held the fish up and shouted, “Mom, look! I caught a fish! Look, Mom!”

Just as he was cheering, the fish struggled free, fell to the ground, flipped a few times, and jumped back into the water.

Before Mama Bear could comfort him, Beibei said, “Haha! It’s okay, I’ll catch it again.” Then he reached into the river again.

Seeing his serious expression, Mama Bear smiled.

In the story, Little Bear Beibei went fishing with his mother. He managed to catch a fish, but it slipped back into the water, making him cry in frustration. With Mama Bear’s guidance, Beibei patiently tried to catch fish, failing again and again, but trying repeatedly. This story teaches us that few people succeed at something on the first try. However, if we have patience, are not afraid of failure, and bravely keep trying, our chances of success will greatly increase.
