Bedtime stories for kids with Bear: The Slowpoke Bear
Bear is a slowpoke. He does things so slowly that it’s unbearable. While others have long finished the same task, he hasn’t even started yet. Bear’s speech is also so slow that it drives people crazy; listeners often wish they could finish his sentences for him.
That summer, Bear decided to open an ice cream shop. However, by the time he finished making the ice cream, it was already a snowy winter, and no one wanted to buy ice cream anymore.
Bear thought he might as well open a scarf shop while the weather was cold. But alas, by the time he knitted a scarf, it was already scorching hot, and who would wear a scarf in such heat? Since he couldn’t open a shop, Bear decided to find a satisfying job. “Ah, I’ll become a TV host!” “Now broadcasting the evening news.” What was supposed to be a half-hour news segment took him until midnight to finish, and people had no choice but to go to bed.
After several failures, Bear didn’t know what he could do, so he went around asking others for advice. The playful Rabbit said, “That’s easy! You should become a train driver!”
But who would have thought? The train Bear drove crawled forward like a snail. The passengers were anxious. “Hey! Speed up! We’re going to be late!” “This isn’t a train; it’s practically an ox cart!”
Bear tried several jobs in a row, all without success, and he felt very sad. Finally, Monkey came up with the most brilliant idea in the world: “You could drive a steamroller!” Now Bear is a very competent steamroller driver. Every day, he drives the giant machine, slowly moving forward, then slowly moving back, flattening the road smoothly. Whenever Bear meets someone, he happily says, “I love this job!”
