Actually, every household’s refrigerator is home to a group of tiny snow monkeys. They’re only the size of a pinky finger, completely snow-white, except for their tiny sesame-sized black eyes. If you don’t look closely, you’d never notice them.
The snow monkeys are always making a racket inside the fridge, but since the fridge door is usually shut tight, we don’t hear them. The snow monkeys never stay quiet for a moment, which is why the fridge constantly makes that “rumbling” sound.
There was a boy named Lulu who found it strange that the fridge was always making such a loud noise. One time, the fridge made an especially loud rumbling sound, so Lulu quickly opened the fridge door—oh my! Inside the freezer was a bunch of snow monkeys tangled up in a fight! Lulu thought it was amusing and kept watching with the fridge door open. Little did he know, the ice in the freezer had started melting. “What are you staring at? The ice is melting! Hurry up and get some ice!” one of the snow monkeys said in a high-pitched voice.
But where could he find ice now? Lulu quickly grabbed a large bowl and scooped some snow from outside to put in the fridge. “Add some water, and it’ll be perfect—I can take a bath!” one of the snow monkeys said to Lulu.
Lulu found it funny but did as they asked.
The snow monkeys jumped into the snow water with a splash, spreading their arms and legs as they floated comfortably on the surface. After their bath, they didn’t waste a moment and started playing again. They jumped off the mountain of frozen pork, dashed up the fortress of frozen dumplings, circled around the hill of frozen buns, and then climbed the pile of frozen tofu…
Still not satisfied, the snow monkeys called out to Lulu, “It’s winter now, so it must be snowy and icy outside, right?”
Lulu replied, “Yes, it’s freezing out there.” “Great! We can go on vacation!” all the snow monkeys shouted together.
The snow monkeys grabbed their sleds, put on their skates, and slid down to the ground.
“Lulu, we’re going outside to play, but make sure you leave us some space in the fridge! We’ll be back in the spring!” the snow monkeys shouted to Lulu.
“Alright, enjoy your vacation! Bye-bye!” Lulu said happily.
