Bears Story: Going to School
Summer vacation has come to an end, the weather is starting to cool, and it’s time for school to start.
The Berenstain Bear family had a wonderful summer together. One evening, Brother Bear said, “I’ve had enough of summer break; I want to go back to school.” Papa Bear agreed with Brother Bear because it was indeed time for school to start. When Sister Bear heard the word “school,” she perked up her ears because this year, she would be going to school too. But Sister Bear loved spending time with Mama and Papa Bear and didn’t know what school was like. Mama Bear promised to take her to visit the school the next day.
The next day, Sister Bear met her teacher and saw the beautiful classroom. She also learned what she would be doing at school. But on the morning she was supposed to go to kindergarten, Sister Bear started to worry again. She said, “What if I don’t like kindergarten?”
At this point, I’m reminded of the time when Lele started kindergarten. When a child enters a new environment, they need time to adapt. The main challenge is being away from their parents and familiar people, which requires an adjustment period emotionally. During this time, it’s important to give the child plenty of reassurance so they can feel at ease about going to school. This is crucial for children who are just starting school.
Brother Bear took Sister Bear’s hand and led her onto the school bus. On the bus, Sister Bear made a new friend, who was also going to school for the first time. They became good friends. When they arrived at school, Sister Bear and her new friend played together happily. The classroom was lively, and the teacher even told them stories. At noon, they took a nice nap. After school, Sister Bear and Brother Bear got on the school bus together and went home. Sister Bear eagerly showed her parents the picture she had drawn. After a few days, Brother Bear didn’t feel like going to school, but Sister Bear had grown to love it. She pulled Brother Bear onto the school bus, excited to go to school. It truly was a journey from worry to love; children will come to love school because it’s so much fun.
After reading this story, I believe many children will start to like going to school because they’ll understand what they’ll be doing there and what fun things await them. Especially with Sister Bear as an example, they’ll quickly come to love school.
