Banana slide children’s story
During nap time, Little Ant and Little Ladybug were holding hands, taking a walk along the small path in front of their door.
Green grass grew on both sides of the path, and red flowers bloomed. Huh, what was that green, curved thing lying on the path ahead? They touched it; it wasn’t soft nor hard. What could it be? Little Ant and Little Ladybug quickly called over a group of friends, and everyone came to guess.
Little Grasshopper said, “It must be a small, curved bridge!” Little Cricket said, “Maybe a piece of the rainbow fell from the sky!”
“Wow! It looks so much like a slide!” Little Mantis exclaimed in surprise.
“It really does, it really does,” everyone nodded in agreement.
What a fun slide! Climbing up felt like scaling a small mountain, and sliding down felt like flying an airplane—whoosh!—right to the bottom. It was incredibly fun! They happily played on it over and over again, and even when it got dark, they were reluctant to go home.
From that day on, the little friends came to play on the slide every day. However, after a few days, they noticed something strange: the green slide had turned yellow and was emitting a sweet fragrance. When they stepped on it, it felt a bit soft. At this moment, Little Mantis discovered a crack in one spot, revealing something white inside. Curious, he dipped his hand in and tasted it: wow, it was sweet and quite tasty! What was going on?
They all went to find Granny Ant, the smartest in the insect kingdom. Granny Ant took one look and immediately understood: “Kids, this is a delicious banana. When it’s just picked, it’s green and hard. As it ripens, it turns yellow and soft. If you don’t eat it soon, it will rot!” Oh no, it would be a shame to eat the fun slide, but it would be even worse to let it rot. They quickly notified their friends and family to come eat the banana.
So, nine hundred and ninety-nine little insects came and had a grand banana feast. They ate for three days and three nights. As they ate, they cheerfully said, “The slide is so tasty! So tasty!”
