Animal friendship tale: Red Shoe, Green Shoe
The alarm clock rang eight times before finally waking up Xiaomi Fox.
If he didn’t hurry, he’d be late for school! Xiaomi Fox rushed to put on his clothes and shoes, grabbed his backpack, and ran out the door.
Almost at the school gate, Xiaomi Fox looked up and saw the sun smiling so brightly it turned red. “Xiaomi Fox, you put on the wrong shoes,” said the sun.
Xiaomi Fox looked down and saw that he was wearing a red shoe on one foot and a green shoe on the other.
Feeling embarrassed, Xiaomi Fox hid in a small bush by the roadside.
There, he saw a little bird trembling in its nest.
“Little bird, why are you trembling? Are you shy because you saw me?” Xiaomi Fox asked.
The bird replied, “No, it’s just that it’s too cold in the morning, and I’m shivering.”
Xiaomi Fox wanted to find a blanket for the bird, but the leaves and grass on the ground were all wet with dew. He reached into his backpack and felt something soft. He pulled it out and, to his surprise, it was his mother’s golden wig.
It was then that Xiaomi Fox realized he had taken his mom’s makeup bag instead of his school bag.
Xiaomi Fox covered the bird with the wig and said, “Let this be your blanket!”
“Woo woo woo…” Suddenly, the sound of crying came from nearby.
Xiaomi Fox lifted the wig and asked, “Little bird, you’re warm now, so why are you crying?”
The bird shook its head. “It’s not me. It’s Skunk Mom crying.”
Indeed, Xiaomi Fox saw Skunk Mom lying at the tree root, crying.
“Why are you crying?” Xiaomi Fox asked.
“My classmates laugh at me and don’t want to play with me because they say I smell bad,” Skunk Mom said, becoming more upset.
Xiaomi Fox took a bottle of perfume from the makeup bag and sprayed it under Skunk Mom’s arms.
Skunk Mom was now surrounded by a lovely fragrance, and a few butterflies, attracted by the scent, fluttered over.
Skunk Mom grabbed Xiaomi Fox’s hand and ran towards the school, shouting, “I can go to school now! I can go to school now!”
“Wait, don’t go yet.” Xiaomi Fox’s mother was chasing after them, carrying Xiaomi Fox’s school bag. “You silly fox, how did you end up taking my makeup bag instead?”
After exchanging the bags and thanking his mother, Xiaomi Fox ran into the school with Skunk Mom.
Latecomer Wolf was just entering the gate.
Seeing Skunk Mom, he asked curiously, “Hey, why are there so many butterflies following you? How come you smell so nice?”
Even more interested in Xiaomi Fox, he asked, “Xiaomi Fox, why did you decide to wear two different colored shoes? They look awesome!”
Hearing this, Xiaomi Fox laughed. It turned out that wearing one red shoe and one green shoe looked pretty cool when running around!
