Where Did the Wind Go?
Children are full of curiosity about the world, and their minds are always bursting with questions. In response to the question “Where did the wind go?” a clever mother in the book guides her child to find answers using simple language and a step-by-step approach. I believe that after reading this book, you will also come to understand some of the phenomena of nature’s cycles.
Now, the mother comes to say goodnight to her child.
“Why does it disappear during the day?” he asks her.
“That’s so that night can come here,” she replies, pointing outside. Under the night sky, behind the pear tree branches, he sees a silver crescent moon.
“This is how the night begins,” she tells him, placing her hand on his shoulder. “A night with the moon, stars, and darkness helps you dream.”
“But where does the sun go when it disappears?” the little boy asks.
“The day doesn’t really disappear; it just goes to another place. Here it’s night, but somewhere else it’s still day. The sun rises there, and nothing ever truly vanishes,” his mother explains.
“Is it always like that?” the boy asks.
“Yes,” his mother confirms. “It just changes places or forms.”
“So when the wind stops, where does it go?” the boy inquires.
“When the wind stops, it actually blows to another place, making the trees dance there,” his mother replies.
“And where does the dandelion fluff get blown to?” he asks.
“It carries new seeds to the grass in someone else’s yard,” she answers.
“When the mountain reaches the top, where does it go?” he questions.
“It comes down the slope and becomes a valley,” she explains.
“And after the waves crash on the beach, where do they go?” he asks.
“They retreat back into the sea and become new waves,” she says.
“When the storm is over, where does the rain go?” he wonders.
“It goes back into the clouds to generate new storms,” she replies.
“And where do the clouds drift to in the sky?” he asks.
“They go to other places to provide shade,” she answers.
