The Best Dad
Papa Bear gave Little Black Bear a toy baby bear. Little Black Bear said, “Haha, I can be a dad now!” Just like his dad, Little Black Bear kissed the baby bear and said, “Dear baby, did my whiskers poke you?”
Little Black Bear lifted the baby bear and said, “Can you see far away? When you grow up, Daddy will take you to that place.”
Little Black Bear played many games with the baby bear.
At night, when it was time for the baby bear to go to sleep, Little Black Bear said, “Baby, don’t be afraid. Daddy is here! Let Daddy tell you a story.” Little Black Bear told a story, and it was even better than Papa Bear’s stories.
In the morning, Little Black Bear shouted loudly, “Wake up, wake up! If you don’t get up, Daddy will spank you!” “Pitter-patter, pitter-patter!” Little Black Bear shouted very loudly, but hit very, very softly.
After just two taps, Little Black Bear picked up the baby bear and, with concern, said, “Did it hurt? Daddy’s spanks never hurt. I hit you very, very gently.”
Seeing Little Black Bear heading out with the baby bear, Papa Bear asked, “Where are you going?”
Little Black Bear said, “I’m the daddy, I’m taking the baby to kindergarten.”
Papa Bear happily said, “Yes, you’re the best dad.”
Little Black Bear proudly replied, “Yes, I’m the best, best dad.”
