The Peacock Opens a Clothing Store

The little peacock had a slim figure and wore a beautiful, multicolored outfit, which earned her the nickname “Peacock Princess.” On the first day of the new year, the Peacock Princess’s fashion store officially opened.

Look, inside the Peacock Fashion Store were vests as bright as the sun, hats as white as snowflakes, and shiny black leather boots…

The first customer was the chubby little bear. The little bear browsed left and right but couldn’t make up his mind, so he asked Peacock Sister for help: “Peacock Sister, the clothes you’re wearing are so beautiful. Could you pick one for me? On Sunday, I’m going to Aunt Hippo’s house with my mom and dad.” The little peacock glanced at the bear, cracking sunflower seeds, and said, “Have you even looked at yourself in the mirror? No figure, no looks…” Before she could finish her sentence, the little bear had already stomped out of the store, furious.

After a while, the little monkey came in to buy new clothes, as she was going to attend her grandmother’s birthday banquet that evening. The little monkey looked at this and touched that, trying on clothes but not sure which one to pick. The little peacock impatiently said, “You’ve been choosing for so long, don’t get my clothes dirty. You’re so skinny, trying to look fancy?” The little monkey was so angry that she shouted, “I’ll never come to your store again!” Then, she stormed off.

All the animals in the forest knew that the little peacock had opened a clothing store, but no one dared to go there to buy clothes. After nearly a month, the beautiful clothes were already covered in a thin layer of dust. The little peacock couldn’t figure out why no one came to buy clothes, so she went to ask Uncle Elephant, the wisest in the forest, for advice.

Uncle Elephant spoke to the little peacock in a kind and serious tone, “Little Peacock, you always think you’re the only one who is beautiful, and that everyone else looks bad. But you need to understand that everyone has a desire to look good. You should serve each customer with enthusiasm and help them find clothes they’re happy with.” The little peacock seemed to have learned a lot.

The next day, the little peacock got up early, polished the floor until it gleamed, neatly arranged the clothes, and stood at the door with a big smile to welcome customers.

Uncle Elephant brought the little bear, the little monkey, the little rabbit, and others to the store, and the once quiet shop suddenly became lively. The little peacock, now all smiles, busily helped everyone: she picked a loose and stylish coat for the little bear, a red vest for the little monkey, a green skirt for the little rabbit, and Uncle Elephant fell in love with a color-changing hat. The little bear looked slimmer, the little monkey more energetic, the little rabbit prettier, and Uncle Elephant seemed much younger. Seeing her friends dressed so beautifully, the little peacock couldn’t stop grinning…
