The Honey-Loving Little Bear
Once upon a time, in a forest filled with blooming flowers, there was a wooden house where Mama Bear lived with her two cubs: Brown Bear Jamie and Panda Bear Jimmy. The family lived happily together in the forest.
One day, Mama Bear said to Jimmy and Jamie, “Children, would you like to have some honey tonight?”
Jimmy and Jamie answered in unison, “Yes, Mama, we want some.”
Mama Bear said, “Then go ask Little Bee for some honey. Remember, you must be polite!”
Jimmy replied, “I understand, Mama.”
But Jamie, on the other hand, was only thinking, “We’re going to have honey tonight—how wonderful!”
Jamie didn’t really listen to what Mama Bear said.
And so, the little bears ran toward the beehive.
Jimmy got to the beehive first and said to Little Bee, “Sister Bee, could you please give me some honey?”
Little Bee replied, “Of course, Jimmy! Just bring a jar.”
“Okay.” Jimmy ran back home and brought a jar.
Little Bee said, “Jimmy, bring the jar closer. I’ll have my brothers pour some honey for you.” Jimmy did as Little Bee asked, and sure enough, delicious, sweet honey flowed into the jar.
Jimmy said, “Thank you, Sister Bee.”
Little Bee replied, “You’re welcome, Jimmy. You’re such a polite little bear.”
With that, Jimmy happily ran home and gave the honey to Mama Bear.
Meanwhile, Jamie took a jar and rushed to the beehive. He said to Little Bee, “Hey, Bee, hurry up and give me some honey!”
Little Bee replied, “With that attitude, I won’t give you any.”
Jamie was furious and stormed back home, telling Mama Bear, “Mama, Little Bee won’t give me any honey!”
Mama Bear asked, “Were you polite?” Jamie’s face turned red, and he lowered his head in shame.
Mama Bear said, “Jamie, when you’re kind to others, they’ll be kind to you. Do you understand?”
Jamie replied, “I’ll never be rude again. I’ll be kind to others from now on.”
Jimmy said, “It’s alright, let’s all share the honey I got!”
At that moment, everyone laughed and happily shared the delicious jar of honey.
