Witch Stories: Winnie and the Magic Pumpkin

Winnie the witch loves eating all kinds of vegetables. However, her favorite is still pumpkin. Her big black cat, Wilbur, also enjoys pumpkin soup mixed with a lot of rich cream.

So, Winnie decided to grow her own vegetables.
But the vegetables were growing too slowly, so Winnie tried to use magic to help them grow.
Every Saturday morning, Winnie would hop on her flying broom, Wilbur would jump onto her shoulder, and together they’d fly to the farmers’ market to buy vegetables.
But coming back wasn’t so easy. The broom carried a cat, a bunch of pumpkins, and many other vegetables, making it hard to keep balance…

Winnie was too impatient and used too much magic. As a result, everything in the garden became enormous!
The cabbages grew as big as cows, and a thick pumpkin vine was winding around Winnie’s house, growing upward. Soon, a giant pumpkin formed on the roof.

“No!” Winnie cried. “This pumpkin will crush my house!” She waved her magic wand and shouted, “Abracadabra!” Everything that had grown too large returned to its original size, except the pumpkin, which was still enormous. How could they possibly eat all of it?

“What can I do with this pumpkin shell?” Suddenly, Winnie had an idea. She waved her magic wand, and a bright orange helicopter appeared in the garden.
Winnie had a burst of inspiration and carved a door into the pumpkin.
She then put up a sign at the entrance: “Free Pumpkin, Help Yourself!” People flocked to her house, and soon, there was nothing left but an empty pumpkin shell.

Now, Winnie and Wilbur could buy as many pumpkins as they liked from the market. Plus, flying home in a helicopter was way more fun!
