In the forest, the elephant uses its trunk to roll logs, the little bird opens its beak and sings happily, and the little monkey proudly hangs upside down from a tree. But the little hippo is downcast and listless.

The little hippo says, “I don’t have a trunk to roll logs, I don’t have a mouth that can sing, and I don’t have a tail like a hook. What talent do I have? Oh, I’m really useless.”

The camel comes to find the little hippo. “Little Hippo, why don’t you come with me to the desert?” The little hippo thinks for a moment and says, “No, there’s no water in the desert, I wouldn’t be able to stand it.”

The little squirrel comes to find the little hippo. “Little Hippo, why don’t you come with me to collect pine cones?” The little hippo thinks for a moment and says, “No, I’m too fat, I can’t climb trees.”

One day, a little rabbit needs to cross the river to gather mushrooms, but it has no way to get across. The little hippo sees this and says, “Sit on my back, I’ll carry you across the river.”

The little rabbit sits on the little hippo’s back, and soon they reach the other side of the river. The rabbit says happily, “Thank you, Little Hippo, your talent is really great.” The little hippo is surprised, “Is my talent really great?” “Of course!” says the little rabbit.

A few days later, the little hippo sets up a “Hippo Ferry Station” by the river.
