Children’s story about ant: Moves House
Granny Ant was very old, and her back and legs often ached. According to Dr. Ant, she had arthritis and needed to get more sunlight. However, Granny Ant lived in a hole under a mound of earth, where not a single ray of sunlight could reach.
Granny Ant lay on a small lump of dirt, rubbing her legs and groaning, “Oh, oh…”
A group of little ants walked into Granny Ant’s hole and approached her. “Granny, what’s wrong?” they asked.
“Sigh!” Granny Ant sighed and said, “My legs are acting up again. It feels terrible.”
“Granny, we’ll massage your legs for you!” The little ants made small fists and gently pounded on Granny Ant’s legs.
“It feels so good, so good!” Granny Ant said with a smile. “If I could go outside and bask in the sun, it would feel even better!”
“Granny!” the little ants said, “After we finish massaging your legs, we’ll carry you outside to sunbathe!”
“How could that be? How could that be?” Granny Ant quickly shook her head. “It would wear you out.”
“Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of strength!” said the little ants. They helped Granny Ant onto a small leaf, letting her lie down. Then, they lifted the leaf and, huffing and puffing, carried it to the entrance of the hole.
They moved Granny Ant to a very high place: “Here is a golden ‘meadow,’ with a sweet fragrance in the air. It’s so beautiful!”
“Granny Ant’s new house is so amazing! It can follow the sun, facing east when the sun is in the east, and facing west when the sun is in the west.”
From then on, Granny Ant could bask in the sun from morning till night, feeling wonderfully comfortable.
So, where exactly did Granny Ant’s house get moved to?
—It turns out, it was on the large flower head of a sunflower.
