Lazy Little Rabbit
The little rabbit didn’t want to walk anymore, so she asked her mom, “Why do we have to have legs?”
“Silly child, you need legs to walk,” her mom replied.
“Fish don’t have legs, but they can still move!” the little rabbit said angrily.
“Their tails are like their legs,” her mom explained.
“It must be much easier to have a tail as a leg.” With that, the little rabbit jumped into the river and turned into a fish.
The little rabbit fish swam and swam, but before long, she felt exhausted.
A small fish caught up with her and said, “Hurry up, there’s a big fish coming to eat us!” With that, the little fish swam far ahead.
The little rabbit fish had no choice but to swim forward, even though she was so tired. Just then, a bird flew overhead. The little rabbit fish thought, “It would be great to be a bird, then I wouldn’t have to swim so hard.”
As soon as the little rabbit fish thought this, she felt the ground falling away beneath her. She had turned into a bird! Being a bird was so fun! The little rabbit bird touched the wind rushing past her, tugged at the clouds floating above her head, and pulled on the golden beard of the sun, finding it all incredibly amusing.
But after flying for a little while, the little rabbit bird became very tired. She really wanted to stop and rest, but all around her was nothing but endless sea. She realized she had flown over the ocean.
“Hurry up, we still have to fly for a day and a night to cross the sea!” said another bird flying by.
The little rabbit bird wanted to cry because she was too tired to keep flying, but if she didn’t, she would fall into the sea and drown. So, the little rabbit bird had to keep flapping her wings with all her strength, pushing herself forward despite her exhaustion…
She flew and flew until finally, she reached the edge of a vast forest. She tumbled to the ground, completely unable to move. Just then, a wild cat came running over, picked up the little rabbit bird, and ran off. The little rabbit bird woke up in shock and quickly turned back into her original self. “Huh? Why am I carrying a lazy rabbit?” The wild cat dropped her and angrily walked away.
The little rabbit, trembling with fear, woke up from her dream: It turns out, being anyone else isn’t easy. It’s better to just be yourself!
