Children’s story about imagination
Bear Chunky had a lot of picture books at home. Some were big, some were small, some were colorful, and others were black and white.
Every day after coming home from kindergarten, Bear Chunky would read his picture books. Sometimes, he’d laugh out loud all by himself, and other times, the thrilling stories would make him so nervous that he could hardly breathe.
Bunny Hop, on the other hand, didn’t have a single picture book at home because his father was away, and his mother didn’t have money to buy him books.
One day, at kindergarten, Bunny Hop told the teacher and classmates a story called “The Big Bad Wolf and the Cotton Doll.” It was such a good story.
Ostrich Teacher asked Bunny Hop where he heard the story. Bunny Hop said he read it in a picture book.
In the evening, on the way home, Bear Chunky insisted on swapping picture books with Bunny Hop. Bear Chunky thought Bunny Hop’s picture books must be better than his.
Bunny Hop said, “Sure, bring your picture books and meet me on the meadow.”
Bear Chunky hurried home, grabbed many picture books, and went to the meadow to find Bunny Hop to swap books.
Bear Chunky handed his picture books to Bunny Hop and said, “Where are your picture books?”
Bunny Hop said, “My picture books are amazing. I’ll take you to see them.”
Bunny Hop led Bear Chunky to the grassy field and asked him to lie down and look up at the blue sky. Bunny Hop asked Bear Chunky, “Look, doesn’t that gray cloud look like a big bad wolf?”
“It does, it really does!”
“And look, doesn’t that white cloud look like a cotton doll?”
“It does, it really does!”
After a while, the “big bad wolf” turned into a small hill, and the “cotton doll” turned into a little white sail on the blue ocean…
Bear Chunky was entranced. He said, “Bunny Hop, your picture books are amazing! They can change shapes!”
“There’s something even better!”
“Where?”
Bunny Hop led Bear Chunky to a small pond. They sat side by side under a big tree, and Bunny Hop said, “Look, this is also one of my picture books.”
In the pond, there were reflections of white clouds, trees, and flowers, as well as the shadow of a bird flying by. If you looked closely, you could also see fish wagging their tails, shy little shrimps, and silly tadpoles…
Bear Chunky happily said, “Bunny Hop, your picture books are fantastic! They move, just like watching a movie.”
Later, Bunny Hop sat on the grass, absorbed in reading Bear Chunky’s picture books. As for Bear Chunky, he sometimes lay on the grass, sometimes sat under the big tree by the pond, enjoying Bunny Hop’s picture books. They were so happy.
The next day, Bear Chunky and Bunny Hop shared many wonderful stories with their classmates and teachers. These were all stories they had seen in the beautiful and interesting picture books.
