Fun stories for children: The Seven Mice’s Pumpkin Car

In the early autumn of the pumpkin patch, seven wild mice ran in, fleeing from a terrifying big cat. They dashed into the layers of green pumpkin vines and leaves, where large, round pumpkins were growing.

The proud cat searched frantically like a headless chicken but found nothing, eventually leaving in frustration.

“Hooray, we’re safe now!”

When they emerged, they were deeply captivated by the scene before them. The large pumpkin leaves were as big as lotus leaves, and the pumpkins had turned golden yellow after a summer of sunshine.

The smallest mouse extended its nose, getting very close to a pumpkin. It took a sniff and then smiled:

“Wonderful, so sweet! This must be the biggest pumpkin I’ve ever seen! I’m hungry; I guess it would be better off in my stomach!”

The other six mice were also hungry:

“Running away uses up energy!”

They rushed to the pumpkin and began gnawing holes with their sharp teeth. They ate and ate, savoring the delicious pumpkin flesh and tasty seeds. Finally, their bellies were round and full, and they stopped, satisfied!

They crawled out of the pumpkin, burping, and when they saw their great work, they all laughed:

“Aha, look, this pumpkin is full of holes!”

The smallest mouse suddenly had a good idea and shouted:

“Why don’t we roll it like a pumpkin car? That would be so much fun!”

The other six mice agreed:

“Let’s do it!”

So they all climbed into the pumpkin shell and pushed with all their might:

“One, two, three, go!”

Just then, the persistent cat came back.

When it saw the enormous pumpkin rolling toward it, with bright eyes shining from the holes and deafening singing echoing from inside, it screamed in terror:

“A ghost is coming!”

The cat ran away in fear and never came back.

The mice cheered and sang together:

“Pumpkin car, pumpkin car,
Golden and beautiful,
We drive you.

Pumpkin car, pumpkin car,
Huge and brave,
You can defeat evil.

Pumpkin car, pumpkin car,
Belongs to the seven mice.
