The Koala’s Wish Story

In a dense forest, there was a big wishing tree, and Koala Aji loved making wishes.

One day, Aji asked his mother, “Mom, will the wishing tree bear fruit tomorrow?”

Mom replied, “No, the wishing tree only blooms, it doesn’t bear fruit.”

“Then can you take me to see the wishing tree, Mom?”

“Be good, Aji. I’m knitting shoes for you. Why don’t you go play for a while?”

A week passed, and Aji asked his mother again, “Mom, will the wishing tree bear fruit tomorrow?”

“Sweetie, I’ve never seen the wishing tree bear fruit in all my life.”

“I don’t believe it! If the wishing tree can bloom, it must be able to bear fruit. Maybe you’ve just missed the time when it bore fruit. Mom, can you please take me to see the wishing tree?”

“Haha, you’re such a clever little one. How about this—you and your friends can go together to see if the tree has borne fruit.”

Aji happily ran out and found Little Monkey. The two of them went to the wishing tree, and Aji sincerely made a wish. Then he told Little Monkey, “The wishing tree will bear fruit tomorrow.”

Little Monkey told Little Horse, Little Horse told Little Rabbit, Little Rabbit told Little Sheep… Before long, all the young animals in the forest knew about Aji’s wish.

The next day, the young animals came to the wishing tree, but the tree still had not borne fruit. They waited for a long time, but left disappointed.

Aji was not ready to give up on his wish. He went to the wishing tree again, closed his eyes, and silently said, “Today is Mother’s Day. My mom works so hard. I want to give her a massager.” When he opened his eyes, to his surprise, he found a massager hanging from the tree branch.

“The wishing tree has borne fruit!” Aji clapped his little hands in delight.

At that moment, a lark happened to fly by and saw the whole process. She spread the word to everyone that the wishing tree could fulfill wishes. Upon hearing this, everyone rushed to the tree to make their own wishes: a big cake, a beautiful dress, a bouquet of carnations… Before long, the wishing tree was full of all kinds of wish fruits.

On Mother’s Day, all the animal moms received gifts from their children. From then on, the wishing tree was no longer just a tree that bloomed without bearing fruit, but a magical tree full of happiness.
