children’s story about bear: Little Bear’s Dinner Party

Today, Papa Bear and Mama Bear are not home, so Little Bear is hosting a dinner party at home.

Little Bear ties an apron around his waist and is busy in the kitchen. He cuts the raw chicken into small pieces, sprinkles some minced ginger and green onions, pepper, and MSG, and finally rubs some salt on the chicken, preparing it for roasting.

He calls a few friends, inviting them over for dinner. Little Bear first dials the phone number of Little Tiger’s house: “Hello—Little Tiger? This is Little Bear. Please come over to our house for dinner!”

On the phone, Little Tiger says, “Great! What are you serving?”

“Roast chicken!” Little Bear adds, “I’m using the microwave to cook roast chicken for everyone!”

Little Tiger excitedly hangs up the phone, tidies himself up, and gets ready to go to Little Bear’s house.

Little Bear then calls Miss Leopard’s house: “Hello—Miss Leopard? Please come to our house for dinner!”

“Wonderful!” Miss Leopard says, “What are you serving?”

“I’m cooking roast chicken in the microwave for you all!” says Little Bear.

An hour later, all the guests arrive at Little Bear’s house with gifts. Little Bear says, “Please sit in the living room for a while; I’m still busy.”

Little Tiger says, “Little Bear, you’re really something! You’re doing quite well!”

“It’s all thanks to learning from Mama!” says Little Bear. “There’s fruit in the fruit bowl. Please use the fruit knife to peel some for yourselves!”

Little Bear plugs the microwave into the socket. He says to Little Tiger, “Tiger Brother, please help me place the marinated chicken on a plain porcelain plate.”

“Why use a plain plate?” Little Tiger asks.

Little Bear replies, “When using the microwave to roast, using a patterned plate can create sparks.”

Little Bear takes the plate of chicken from Little Tiger, opens the microwave door, puts the chicken inside, and closes the door tightly. Pointing to a knob at the top of the microwave, he says, “Turn the knob to the ‘Microwave Roast’ setting, set the heat to ‘High,’ and set the roasting time to 6 minutes.”

Miss Leopard asks, “Will it be done in 6 minutes?”

“No, it’s better to set a shorter time; if it’s overcooked, there’s no way to fix it.”

The microwave hums loudly. Six minutes quickly pass, and the microwave makes a crisp “ding” sound.

Little Bear says, “This is a reminder for us to check if the food inside is done. If it’s not fully cooked, you can use chopsticks to turn the food over and continue roasting.”

The microwave hums again. After repeating this process several times, the delicious smell of roasted chicken finally wafts from the microwave.

Little Bear brings the crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside roasted chicken to the dining table and imitates the tone of a restaurant waiter, calling out, “Here it comes—”

Little Bear used his own hands to prepare a fragrant meal for his guests. The guests couldn’t stop praising the food after eating.
