Wildcat Story: The Wildcat Bought a Big Refrigerator

The wildcat bought a big refrigerator. It was the largest kind, painted in light green, with several layers top to bottom, capable of holding lots and lots of things.

The wildcat stuffed 5 kilograms of fish into the refrigerator. “What else should I freeze?” After thinking for a bit, the wildcat put everything in the house that could be frozen into the fridge. The big refrigerator was soon packed full.

“I’m the first in the village to buy a refrigerator,” the wildcat thought proudly. “I must let everyone know that I’ve bought a big refrigerator!”

The wildcat decided to move the refrigerator outside and placed it right in front of the house facing the road. The wildcat stood right next to the refrigerator, not moving an inch. “If I don’t do this, how will anyone know this is my refrigerator?” the wildcat thought.

Normally, people would pass by here all the time, but today, no one was coming, and the wildcat was getting anxious!

Finally, a tabby cat came walking up the road. The tabby cat was hurrying along, not even glancing at the refrigerator. The wildcat couldn’t help but stretch its neck and shout:

“Hey, buddy!”

“Huh?!” The tabby cat jumped in surprise.

“Look over here: I bought a big refrigerator! I’m the first in our village to have one!” said the wildcat.

“Refrigerator? What does it do?” The tabby cat curiously examined this thing it had never seen before.

“You’re so silly: a refrigerator keeps things cold! With it, you can eat fresh fish anytime!” The wildcat opened the fridge and pulled out a fish. It chomped down on the cold fish, as if it had never eaten such fresh fish in its life.

The tabby cat wiped the drool from its mouth, feeling a bit embarrassed. The wildcat felt a little sorry for it and pulled out another fish from the refrigerator. “Tabby cat, have a taste of something fresh!”

“Wow, delicious! Only someone as knowledgeable as you deserves to use a refrigerator!” the tabby cat said flatteringly.

The tabby cat left with a satisfied burp, and the wildcat was very pleased. “Well, at least someone knows I have a refrigerator now!”

Soon, a white cat came along.

“Hey, look! I bought a big refrigerator!” the wildcat shouted again.

“Refrigerator?” The white cat walked over, touched here and there, and then said very knowledgeably, “Ah, I know what this is.”

“Ha, finally someone who knows what this is! This is the best thing ever!” The wildcat opened the refrigerator door and said to the white cat, “Look, it can hold so much fresh fish, there’s no need to worry about eating fish!”

Seeing the refrigerator packed full of good things, the white cat’s eyes lit up. “Hmm, cold fish… how does it taste? Maybe a bit off?” The white cat sniffed hard, “I’ll know if it’s fresh with just one bite!”

“It’s definitely fresh!” The wildcat pulled out another fish and gave it to the white cat.

“How does it taste?” The wildcat anxiously asked, staring at the white cat’s mouth.

“The taste… is good, the refrigerator is a great thing!” The white cat said confidently.

The wildcat breathed a sigh of relief.

More and more people came by, and everyone gathered around to see the big refrigerator the wildcat had bought. The wildcat eagerly showed everyone the refrigerator, explaining its uses, and then gave them a fish or something else to taste.

By nightfall, the wildcat moved the big refrigerator back into the house.

The refrigerator that had been full in the morning was now empty. “Although it’s a bit tiring, it was worth it since everyone said my big refrigerator is great!” the wildcat thought.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside the door. The wildcat opened the door and was stunned: the old cats of the village had brought their families and formed a long line at its doorstep.

“What’s going on?” The wildcat asked.

“We want to try some more fresh fish from the refrigerator!”

“Yes, yes!” “We didn’t have dinner, we’re so hungry!”

The kittens chimed in.

The wildcat suddenly felt very, very tired.
