little fox Stories: A Sweet Smile
In the forest, there was an adorable little fox.
Every morning, when the bees went out to gather nectar, they would greet the little fox: “Good morning, cute little fox!”
The little fox would stand in the middle of the meadow, nod slightly at the bees, and smile softly in response.
The bees would say, “The little fox’s smile is so sweet, even sweeter than the nectar of a thousand jasmine flowers combined!”
One day, the little fox’s grandmother fell ill, and her mother asked the little fox to go to Dr. Stork’s house to fetch some medicine for her.
The medicine prescribed by Dr. Stork was extremely bitter, and the grandmother didn’t want to take it. She said, “I’m not taking the medicine.”
The little fox replied, “But if you don’t take the medicine, how will you get better?”
The grandmother said, “Give me some honey first, and I’ll be good and take the medicine.”
There was no honey left at the grandmother’s house, and the little fox had no money to buy some from the bees. What should she do?
Suddenly, the little fox had an idea. She stood in front of her grandmother and smiled at her:
“My smile is sweeter than the nectar of a thousand jasmine flowers combined, Grandma. Why don’t you try my smile?”
The grandmother said, “I’d love to taste a smile sweeter than jasmine nectar. But, little fox, you’ll first have to tell me which cup it’s in.”
The little fox looked carefully into the mirror and quickly found it:
“Right here, Grandma!”
The grandmother widened her eyes and looked at the little fox’s face. Aha, sure enough! The little fox had two dimples, and each dimple was filled with a honey-sweet smile.
The grandmother pressed her pointed lips to the little fox’s cheek and kissed it. Happily, she said, “Oh, I’ve tasted it. It’s so sweet!”
After tasting the honey-sweet smile, the grandmother obediently took the medicine, and her illness was cured in no time!
