Short fable about animal

One day, a wolf caught a chicken and happily returned home. He handed the chicken to the fox, who lived with him, and said, “You kill the chicken, pluck its feathers, clean it, and start cooking it in the pot. I’m going to invite the old bear to come and eat chicken with us.” After saying this, the wolf left to invite the old bear.

The fox, who was at home, cooked the chicken and began to drool with hunger. He couldn’t resist and took a chicken leg from the pot to eat; then he grabbed a chicken wing and ate it as well. After that, he still wanted more, and before long, the fox had eaten the entire chicken.

The wolf came back and asked the fox, “Is the chicken cooked?”

The fox lied, saying, “Just a little bit longer.”

The wolf said, “I’ll go sharpen the knife first, so when the old bear arrives, we can use the knife to cut the chicken meat.”

At this moment, the old bear arrived. The fox told the old bear, “You big fool, you better run fast. The wolf tricked you into coming here because he wants to cut off your ears! If you don’t believe me, just listen—he’s sharpening the knife right now!”

The old bear really did hear the “shh shh shh” sound of the knife being sharpened and was so scared that he turned and ran.

Seeing the old bear running away, the fox went to the wolf and said, “Look, your friend the old bear is really unreasonable. You kindly invited him to eat chicken, but he went ahead and stole your entire chicken!”

The wolf lifted the pot lid and saw that the chicken was indeed gone. The wolf was furious, jumping up in anger, and grabbed the knife to chase after the old bear.

The wolf saw the old bear running away, so he chased after him, shouting, “Hey! Stupid bear, get back here!”

The old bear looked back and saw the wolf coming after him with a bright, shiny knife. He thought the wolf really was going to cut off his ears, so he ran even harder.

The wolf chased with all his might, and when he finally caught up to the old bear, he grabbed him and asked, “Why did you steal my chicken?”

The old bear asked the wolf, “Why do you want to cut off my ears?”

That’s when they both realized they had been tricked by the fox. When they went back to look for the fox, the cunning fox had already run off and was nowhere to be found.
