A Beautiful Glass Marble
The little rabbit found a glass marble, round and blue, with a little red flower embedded inside. It was so beautiful.
The little rabbit loved it so much. He rolled it around, bounced it, and played with it all day long.
As evening approached, the little rabbit came to a big rock and hid the marble in a crack: “See you tomorrow!”
Not far from the big rock lived a little fox. He saw the little rabbit hiding something in the crack. As soon as the little rabbit left, the little fox ran over and took the glass marble: “What a beautiful marble, it’s mine now!”
The next day, the little rabbit came early to get the marble. But the marble was gone. The little rabbit was very sad: “Who took my marble?” She saw the little fox peeking out from the house nearby and ran over to ask, “Did you take my glass marble?”
“No, I didn’t take it,” the little fox whispered.
The little rabbit returned to the big rock and stood there quietly. “Why are you standing there?” the little fox asked loudly.
“I’m waiting for my marble,” the little rabbit said. “The person who took it will definitely return it.”
“Hmph, I won’t return it!” the little fox thought to himself.
The little rabbit waited and waited. As night fell, no one had returned the marble, so the little rabbit had to go home.
The next day, the little rabbit came early again to the big rock. “Why are you here again?” the little fox asked.
“To wait for my marble,” the little rabbit replied.
The little fox didn’t say a word and went back inside.
The little rabbit waited and waited. As evening approached again, the little rabbit still hadn’t gotten the marble back.
On the third day, the little rabbit came early again to the big rock and waited quietly.
The little fox peeked out from his house but quickly pulled back and sat quietly inside, waiting for the night.
On the fourth day, the little rabbit came early to the big rock, looked into the crack, and shouted loudly, “My marble is back! My marble is back!”
“Sorry!” the little fox, blushing, said from the house not far away.
