Children story about friendship: Lamb and wolf

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful and adorable little lamb named Lang.

Her name brought her bad luck, as her friends would often ask, “Lang? Like the wolf that eats sheep? Lang? Like the evil wolf?”

They were afraid of Lang and didn’t want to play with her.

Time passed, and the lambs grew up, as did Lang, but things got worse.

Now the lambs were no longer afraid of her; instead, they made fun of her: “Hey, Lang, why don’t you howl at the moon? Show us your sharp black ears! Bare your sharp teeth! Lang, oh Lang, big bad wolf, come and catch us!”

They mocked her and still didn’t want to play with her.

Time went on, and the lambs turned into large sheep with golden horns.

Lang also grew bigger, with a coat of white, soft, cloud-like wool; she became a very lovely ewe.

But every time a ram fell in love with her, her frightening name would scare him away.

Whenever a ram gazed into her eyes and whispered, “I love you, Lang!”

The ram would be startled by his own words: “What, love a wolf?” and would run away.

So Lang had no friends, no sheep to share her secrets with, and no one willing to be tender with her.

So Lang asked her parents, “Why did you give me such a terrible name?”

“Because we liked the name,” her father answered.

“Because it’s a cute name!” her mother replied.

“But did you consider me when you named me? Because of this awful name, I don’t have a single friend, and no sheep is willing to love me! I hate this name! I want to change it!”

“No way, once a sheep has a name, it’s hard to change it. Besides, it’s actually a unique name,” her father said.

“And remember, dear, no one forgets their first name, it’s the name we lovingly gave you,” her mother added.

“Then I’ll run away, far away, to a place where no one knows me!” Lang shouted angrily.

Lang was furious and ran off into the snow. She ran as fast as she could, galloping through the snow until she finally calmed down.

“I should head back now, or else Mom and Dad will be worried,” she thought.

But by then, night had fallen, and Lang was lost.

In the pitch-black night, she couldn’t find the fir trees she had passed by earlier. The snow was falling heavily, covering her tracks.

Lang was well and truly lost!

“I mustn’t cry, or the wolves will hear me,” she whispered to herself.

As Lang pondered how to signal her parents, suddenly, the greatest danger appeared—two glowing eyes in the dark night. She knew what it was!

Those were the eyes of a wolf, coming to eat her!

Desperate, she ran into the snow, crying out, “Please don’t eat me, please, please!”

But the glowing eyes didn’t move.

Lang was puzzled and took a small step forward, and nothing happened.

She should have taken the chance to run away, but she was curious. What was going on?

She looked closer at those shining yellow eyes and noticed they were glistening with tears.

A wolf’s eyes filled with tears? She couldn’t believe it!

Lang felt a bit of sympathy and softly asked, “Are you feeling sad?”

“Yes!” the wolf sighed.

“Why?”

“Because of my name!”

“Your name? Oh no!”

“Really! My parents are from the southern plateau, and they named me ‘Angel.’ ‘Angel,’ can you imagine how unsuitable that name is for a wolf? I became very unhappy…”

“Are you serious? That’s terrible; my parents named me Lang!”

The wolf named Angel burst out laughing, and Lang’s heart began to pound.

They huddled together for warmth, and all night long, they shared their secrets with each other.

In the end, Lang and Angel became friends; they finally had someone to talk to!

The night faded, dawn arrived, and they prepared to go home.

Lang joyfully ran into the snow, waving her hoof one last time at Angel by the fir trees.

Lang watched as Angel ran farther and farther away, eventually becoming just a tiny black dot.

Later, Lang found her way back to the flock, and Angel returned to the wolf pack.

They never met again, but they continued to write letters.

Every winter, they would send a letter, like a special anniversary.

Because from that day on, everything changed.

According to recent news, Angel has fallen in love with a blue-eyed she-wolf.

As for Lang, she found her soulmate as well. Now they have three lambs named Remok, Benur, and Fastil.

These are lovely names with no strange meanings at all.
