Fun children’s stories: The Little House
Chubby Pig, Little Kitty, Goosey, and Little Squirrel are Teacher Goat’s most beloved students. They have a wish: to build a beautiful little house.
One day, Teacher Goat said, “Little ones, I’ll take you to a nice place.”
Goosey asked, “Go, go, go where?”
Teacher Goat said, “To the forest.”
Little Squirrel asked, “What are we going to do in the forest? Is it fun?”
Teacher Goat said, “Hey, to fulfill your dream, we’re going there to build our little house.”
—Sniff, oh, oh! The four little ones were extremely happy.
Before leaving, Chubby Pig’s mom said, “Don’t forget to bring paper and pen.”
Chubby Pig asked, “We’re building a house, what do we need paper and pen for?”
Mom said, “You’re a student, aren’t you?”
Chubby Pig was very reluctant, but still did as his mom said.
That day, the sun was like a big pancake, fragrant, warm, and round. They started building their little house. The forest had plenty of materials, so they didn’t need to worry about running out of anything.
Little Squirrel’s house was small, with walls adorned with small pine branches, and he placed many little pinecones on the ground. Little Squirrel happily said, “I sleep on pine trees.”
Little Kitty’s house was small, with a fishing rod hanging on the wall. Below the fishing rod was a small river, with flowers blooming along the riverbank. Little Kitty happily said, “I’m fishing.”
Goosey’s house was small, with walls decorated with leaves forming a small river, which had lotus leaves and duckweed floating in it. Goosey thought, “Unlike Little Kitty, who fishes, I swim and take baths.”
Chubby Pig’s house was the largest, but he didn’t know how to decorate the walls.
He looked at Little Squirrel’s, Little Kitty’s, and Goosey’s houses and found them all very beautiful. Ah, this was really frustrating. What Chubby Pig could think of, his friends had already thought of. What should he do?
From a distance, Teacher Goat asked, “Are your little houses decorated?”
—Yes! Little Kitty, Goosey, and Little Squirrel answered. They were waiting for Teacher Goat to come and praise them.
Chubby Pig became anxious. He picked up the beautiful leaves he had collected and started sticking them on the wall.
—Welcome, friends! Chubby Pig wrote a few words.
—Good, not bad; hey, really beautiful! Teacher Goat started to visit each house.
Oh no, Teacher Goat was bringing the three students towards Chubby Pig’s house.
Chubby Pig quickly took out his pen, wrote a note, and placed it on the table. The note read: Sorry, I’m going to the bathroom.
Chubby Pig hid behind a big tree, feeling very embarrassed. He thought: My house is so ugly.
Teacher Goat said, “Chubby Pig’s house is the most beautiful. Look, his house is the biggest, we can all sit inside, right? Chubby Pig likes friends to visit, and his leaf letters are proof. Besides, look closely, count carefully, how many kinds of leaves did Chubby Pig use for his letters?”
—36 kinds! The three little friends answered.
—Yes, 36 kinds. You’re good friends, how didn’t you notice his meticulousness? Teacher Goat asked.
—But, but, but, we, we, know, know he’s, he’s very shy. Goosey said.
—Come in, Chubby Pig! Little Kitty, Little Squirrel, and Goosey shouted together.
Chubby Pig came in, standing just outside the door, his face blushing like a red persimmon.
