Educational stories: The Toys Came Home

Ding Ding kept pestering his mother to buy toys—small airplanes, toy cars, toy trains, robots, plush dogs… he wanted them all. However, Ding Ding never took care of his toys. The robot had a broken leg, the teddy bear was missing an arm, the airplane lost its wings, and the car had no wheels… The toys all drooped their heads and lost their spirit.

One day, Mom took Ding Ding to Grandma’s house to play. The toys gathered together to discuss. The silly bear said, “Our little owner doesn’t love us; let’s leave.” “Yes, yes!” the toys all cried out.

The toys found their broken legs, missing arms, small wheels, and the airplane’s wings… Everyone helped each other out; they carried these broken legs and arms out of Ding Ding’s house.

Along the way, people looked at these limbless toys with curiosity. Among the crowd, an old man said, “Come here! Come here! Come to my shop; I will fix you.” The toys then settled down in the old man’s shop.

When Ding Ding returned from Grandma’s house and walked in, oh no! All the toys were gone! He saw a note left by the toys: “Ding Ding, you don’t love us, so we have left.” He immediately burst into tears.

Looking at the drawings on the wall, he couldn’t help but remember the chubby pig that made funny faces, the little frog that croaked, and the robot that shook its head. Especially at night, Ding Ding always hugged the silly bear to sleep. But today, he couldn’t fall asleep at all.

The next day, Ding Ding went out to play and passed by the old man’s shop. Hey! The silly bear was waving at him, and the chubby pig was smiling at him. “Isn’t that my silly bear and chubby pig?”

The toys said, “Yes! The old man fixed us.”

Ding Ding said, “I’m sorry! I will never throw you around again. Please come back! I miss you so much!”

Ding Ding thanked the old man with the toys and joyfully returned home.
