colors story for kid:Talking Colors
Mr. Elephant was giving an art class, and he said, “Colors can also talk.” After class, Little Mouse and Little Monkey chased after Mr. Elephant, asking, “Colors are for painting. How can they talk?”
Mr. Elephant took them to an intersection. Little Monkey saw an ice cream shop on the other side of the street and wanted to rush over to get ice cream. Mr. Elephant quickly stopped Little Monkey and said, “Dangerous! You can’t go!” Mr. Elephant pointed to the red light and said, “When the red light is on, it tells people that crossing the street is dangerous and to stop.”
The green light came on, and the cars on both sides of the street stopped. Mr. Elephant then said, “When the green light is on, it means you can go.” He led the students safely across the street to get ice cream.
There were two ice cream shops on the street: One was run by Penguin, and the inside and outside of the shop were all sky blue. The other was run by Turtle, and the inside and outside of the shop were all red.
Strangely, Penguin’s shop was packed with customers. Although Turtle was smiling and greeting people at the door, there were no customers inside the shop.
Mr. Elephant told them, “In the hot summer, the colors of Turtle’s ice cream shop make people feel hot, so there are no customers. Penguin’s sky blue ice cream shop makes people feel cool, so it has many customers.”
After eating the ice cream, Mr. Elephant gave the two students some homework.
Little Mouse’s homework was: “Why do hospitals use white?” Little Monkey’s homework was: “Why do soldiers wear green uniforms?”
