Heartwarming children story: Lele Bear’s Precious Eggs

The sun was setting as Lele Bear walked home, playing with the hopping grasshoppers along the way. While he was parting the grass to find a grasshopper, he was delighted to discover a nest of eggs.

Lele Bear: “Whose mother has lost her baby eggs? Who has lost their baby eggs?”

Lele Bear called out several times, but the surroundings were silent. Apart from the rustling of the grass in the wind, there was no other sound. Seeing that it was getting dark quickly, Lele Bear bid farewell to the grasshoppers and carried the six baby eggs home. When Papa Bear saw Lele Bear carrying the eggs home, he joked, “Hey, my good son, you’ve brought some appetizers for Daddy.”

Lele Bear: “No, no, that’s not it!”

Lele Bear twisted around and hurriedly put the eggs one by one into the big pocket on his chest. Mama Bear saw this and said, “Lele Bear, you’ll accidentally crush those eggs if you’re not careful. Quickly, put them in a box!” With that, Mama Bear handed Lele Bear a cardboard box.

Lele Bear: “No, what if Daddy the glutton sneaks one and eats it?” Lele Bear said, pouting.

So, even when it was time to sleep, Lele Bear hugged the six baby eggs tightly as if they were treasures. In the night, Lele Bear was awakened by a series of tapping sounds.

“Who would visit at this hour?” Lele Bear thought groggily, “It must be Detective Dog. He doesn’t sleep at night and always comes to chat with Daddy, talking endlessly once he sits down.”

Tap-tap-tap, the sound came again. This time, Lele Bear heard it clearly. The sound was coming from his belly. Lele Bear was startled and quickly felt his belly, only to touch the six precious eggs. Tap-tap-tap, he felt it—the sound was coming from inside the eggs.

Lele Bear carefully turned on the light and saw the precious eggs gently shaking on his belly. Each egg had a small, round hole appearing on it. With the knocking sound, the holes grew larger and larger. Slowly, slowly, Lele Bear’s eyes were fixed on the precious eggs, and his breathing became cautious. He was worried the eggs might roll down.

Suddenly, a wet little head popped out of one egg. The little head wobbled left and right, then a slender neck stretched forward. With a crack, the eggshell broke in two. A fluffy yellow chick jumped out of the eggshell. It shook its fuzzy body and opened its big, round, black eyes. Seeing Lele Bear, the chick flapped its tiny wings and greeted, “Hi, hello!”

Lele Bear stretched his neck, humming. Before he could say anything, the second, third, fourth… In what seemed like a blink of an eye, six chicks had all emerged from their eggshells, standing neatly on his belly. The chicks ran to Lele Bear’s ears, each giving the chubby bear ten kisses.

Lele Bear felt his heart become soft and tender. He laughed happily, carefully picking up each chick and placing them on the ground. The chicks gathered around his feet, chirping, making Lele Bear very happy. He shouted, “Daddy, Mommy.”

He rushed into his parents’ room, followed closely by the golden, fluffy chicks.

Chicks: “Daddy, Mommy.”

The adorable chicks mimicked Lele Bear, calling out. Some climbed onto Papa Bear, hugging his chubby body, while others climbed onto Mama Bear, kissing her beautiful face.

Mama Bear laughed and corrected the chicks, “Sorry, children. We are Lele Bear’s parents. Your parents have two legs.”

“Yes, and they have hard, sharp beaks and a pair of short wings,” Papa Bear quickly added.

Lele Bear: “When it’s light, I’ll take you to find your parents.”

But there was no need to search! When Lele Bear opened the door, he found Mama Hen waiting at the doorstep with Detective Dog. Detective Dog said, “I smelled the scent of chicks at your house.”

Chicks: “Mommy!”

From behind Lele Bear, six adorable chicks ran out.
