He couldn’t speak since childhood; he was mute. She was his neighbor, a girl living with her grandmother.
She always called him “brother.” He truly acted like one, taking her to school, playing with her, and smiling as he listened to her chatter. If anyone bullied her, he would defend her fiercely.
