Heartfelt romance tale
This is a melodramatic story, but I have to say it happened to him.
He was a genuinely poor boy, even a poor boy without ambition; his only wish was to marry a wife and take care of his elderly mother, living a peaceful life. This was his thought before he met her! They met under an osmanthus tree, with a faint fragrance of the flowers in the air. He saw her, and his first thought was: such a beautiful girl, who will be lucky enough to marry her? He had such a chance back then, but when he realized it, she had already left him!
Don’t blame who fell in love first back then, just blame myself for not seeing your heart clearly:
Returning to the small town, he was overwhelmed by gossip about how bad she was, people were talking about her viciousness and lack of self-respect. With the resentment from his departure and his longing for her, he often wandered under that osmanthus tree hoping to see her. He didn’t deny that his heart was racing when they met again, and when he saw a bit of surprise in her expression seeing him there, it made his feelings surge to the extreme!
Although he waited there many times afterward, she never appeared again!
He knew she wouldn’t come, but he still believed he would see her. Until one day, he saw a blurry figure, seemingly her, which made him very happy. But as he approached, it was just a girl who looked like her. The girl told him she hated her sister’s fickleness, and he remembered she had a sickly younger sister! When they were together, this girl was still young, and now she looked more and more like her older sister.
Since then, the girl often came to chat with him, and they got along well. Gradually, he felt the same way he did when he was with her. So, when the girl proposed going to the city to see the world, he agreed without hesitation, forgetting his original purpose for returning!
When he returned to the city and got busy again, and the girl’s companionship no longer eased his loneliness, he remembered his original purpose for going back to the small town. When he visited again, she was no longer there! Local people said she had sent her in-laws and husband to prison.
The longer he stayed, the more he felt heartache, and he left in a sorry state. In fact, if he had stayed a little longer, he would have known what he missed and misunderstood all these years! Later, he had someone investigate everything from the past and finally understood what she had gone through. When he called her sister to find out more, her sister’s evasive look made him realize how ridiculously wrong he had been.
In this love story, it doesn’t matter who came first or who left first, just blame him for never seeing her heart clearly! Blame his selfishness, for never seriously understanding her. If he had done that, would he have not lost her?
