Sweethearts Romance
From the moment she first met him, she liked him. Wearing a pair of glasses, he had an air of scholarly charm, with a bright white smile that made him seem sunny and handsome.
Sometimes, she felt he was a bit of a bookworm. For instance, right now, in the park, every other couple was cuddling, some even heading into the woods. But the two of them were just leaning against the railing, watching the fish play in the water, keeping a slight distance from each other. Since they had met, he hadn’t even held her hand!
She knew he liked her too, but he just didn’t dare to make a move. And she wasn’t very modern herself, so she didn’t dare to make the first move either. They just stood quietly, watching the water, listening to each other’s heartbeat.
The sun was about to set, and the fiery sunset painted half the sky red, making their faces blush. She suddenly felt a bit annoyed and wanted to kick him into the water to feed the fish. Thinking of this, an idea flashed through her mind. Yes! She needed to teach him a lesson. She smiled to herself.
“Hey—” she raised her hand and called out to him. He turned his head, and her hand “accidentally” brushed his face. His glasses slid off his nose and dropped into the water, disappearing with a bubble. He cried out in distress, as he couldn’t see anything without his glasses. She apologized and offered to go down and retrieve them. He said, forget it, let’s just buy a new pair; there’s a glasses store nearby, isn’t there?
Beautiful! The park was covered in a gorgeous golden hue, a masterpiece of the setting sun. She held onto him as they slowly walked out, their two wet hands tightly clasped together. She thought, tomorrow she would find a way to secretly retrieve those glasses and keep them as a cherished memento.
