A young deer became very sad when its antlers turned grey due to an illness.
One day, while it was sleeping in the bushes, a little bird flew onto its head. The bird looked around and thought: “It would be great to build a nest here!” So, the bird brought many dry grasses and twigs and placed them on the deer’s head. Before long, a beautiful nest was built. When the deer woke up and discovered the nest on its head, it thought: “Building a nest is not easy for the bird. I should walk slowly from now on, so I don’t shake the bird off.”
When it rained, the deer hid under the leaves to keep the bird from getting wet. When the sun was out, the deer stood in the sunlight to let the bird dry its feathers. When the bird was learning to fly and accidentally fell from the sky, the deer quickly caught it with its nose.
Gradually, the bird grew up. It and its young ones brought many beautiful morning glories and placed them on the deer’s head, turning the grey antlers into a beautiful “flower antler.”
