Children’s Adventure in Forest
One day, Hui walked alone into a misty, golden forest.
It was quiet in the forest. All Hui could hear was the rustling of her footsteps on the fallen leaves. Rustle, rustle, rustle…
Suddenly, a boy whose colors matched the tree bark and leaves cheerfully appeared in front of Hui.
“I am the Hide and Seek King of the forest, and I live right here,” the boy said. “I’m the best at hide and seek. Want to play with me?”
“My name is Hui. Wow, I love playing hide and seek!” Hui’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Anyone who wants to play hide and seek, come out!” the Hide and Seek King shouted into the forest. Before long, all the animals in the forest appeared.
“Come on, rock-paper-scissors to see who’s it.”
The animals played rock-paper-scissors differently: maple leaves were paper, pine needles were scissors, and acorns were rock. Hui lost and had to be “it.”
“Count these bunches of wild grapes. Once you know how many there are, you can come and find us!” the Hide and Seek King instructed.
“One, two, three…” Hui started counting the grapes. When she finished, she looked up and all the animals were gone.
Where could they have hidden? Hui carefully searched behind trees and large tree trunks.
“Gotcha! You hid here, bear!”
“Ah, caught you, raccoon! Squirrel is over here, and there’s the weasel!”
The animals Hui found walked out, one by one, looking disappointed. Hui was thrilled.
But the bear said, “Wait, we haven’t found the Hide and Seek King yet.”
Indeed, they hadn’t found the Hide and Seek King. Everyone started searching together, but no matter how hard they looked, they couldn’t find him.
When everyone was tired and panting, suddenly, from somewhere, a giggling sound emerged.
“Ah, you’re hiding here?” Hui ran over, grabbed the Hide and Seek King’s hand, and pulled him out.
“So you were hiding here.”
“Ah, I failed. It felt so strange being watched that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.”
“Haha, playing hide and seek with you all was so much fun!” Hui happily exclaimed. “I’ll come and play hide and seek with you all again tomorrow!”
