There was a little frog who always liked to sing a song called “Quack, Quack, Quack.” He thought of himself as a musician, but he lacked a stage and a concert hall.
In the pond, the lotus flower heard the “quack, quack, quack” and slowly emerged from the water. She realized—the little frog was singing “Flower! Flower! Flower!” every day. She thought, “I must grow quickly and bloom into the most beautiful lotus flower, maybe even become a large flower boat.” Thus, the lotus bud filled up with the “flower, flower, flower” music, growing bigger and bigger until the petals split open into a large lotus flower!
In the watermelon field, the watermelons heard the “quack, quack, quack” and kept encouraging themselves. They realized—the little frog was singing “Melon! Melon! Melon!” every day. They thought, “I must grow quickly and become the biggest watermelon, maybe even a watermelon house.” Thus, the watermelon filled up with the “melon, melon, melon” music, making its belly rounder and rounder.
The little frog kept singing “quack, quack, quack” non-stop. The lotus grew more beautiful, and the watermelon grew bigger and bigger.
The lotus said, “Why don’t you use me as a fragrant flower boat?” The little frog thought this was a great idea, and when he sang on the flower boat, the lotus was like a big stage.
The watermelon said, “Why don’t you use me as a watermelon house?” The frog thought this idea was brilliant, so he moved into the watermelon house. When he sang “quack, quack, quack” inside, the watermelon was like a concert hall.
