Once upon a time, the animals in the forest fell ill. The cat doctor, with his medicine chest on his back, hurried to treat the sick animals. Halfway there, a small river blocked his path. The cat doctor shouted loudly, “Someone, help! I need to cross the river to treat the animals!”

The rabbit, squirrel, elephant, buffalo, and other animals heard and rushed over to help.

The elephant said, “I’ll carry you across.” So, they waded into the water. But when they reached the middle of the river, the water was too deep, and they had to turn back.

The rabbit suggested, “How about swinging across the river?”

The rabbit tied one end of a rope to a big tree, and the other end for the cat doctor to hold onto. With a push from everyone, the cat doctor soared into the air. However, due to the high speed, the cat doctor couldn’t hold onto the rope and fell into the river with a “splash.”

The buffalo immediately swam over and rescued the cat doctor. The squirrel quickly brought out his old nest, and the cat doctor sat in the hollow tree to cross the river.

Later, the cat doctor cured the animals’ illnesses. All the animals said together, “Thank you, Cat Doctor.”

The cat doctor replied, “Don’t thank me. You should thank our neighbors across the river. They are the ones who got me here.”
