Bad-tempered king story

King Qigula had been spoiled by the old king, queen, and his nanny since he was young, resulting in a very bad temper. When he lost his temper, it was not just an ordinary outburst, but a full-blown rage.

He often scolded the court ministers and servants, and even his nanny was not exempt. The nanny frequently advised the king to change his ways, and though he expressed willingness to improve, he couldn’t control himself once his temper flared up.

The nanny suggested, “You should get a pet. Raising a pet requires love and care, which might help you curb your bad temper.”

King Qigula insisted on keeping a lion as a pet. Who would keep a lion as a pet? Unable to convince him otherwise, the nanny sought help from her witch sister, who brought back an adorable, cat-sized lion cub.

The king fed the lion cub plenty of meat every day, and soon it grew into a mighty lion.

He was very attentive and kind to his pet and never lost his temper with it. However, he continued to lose his temper and scold others.

The king’s pet lion also developed a bad temper, mimicking the king’s behavior. One day, when the king was again scolding the nanny, the lion followed suit, opening its huge mouth and swallowing the nanny whole.

The king was terrified. He chased after the lion, shouting, “Spit out the nanny! She is my dearest nanny!” The lion turned and ran into the forest, refusing to come out. The news of the lion swallowing the nanny spread quickly. Outside the palace, a group of children sang loudly:

“The king’s pet has a bad temper,
Just like King Qigula.
When the king loses his temper,
The lion swallows the fat nanny whole.”

King Qigula regretted his actions deeply. He shouted at the forest’s edge, “Please spit out the nanny! I will never lose my temper again. I will discard my bad temper…”

But there was no movement from the forest.

“Bad-tempered lion, if you must eat, eat me and let my nanny out!” Finally, there was a stir in the forest. Shortly after, the nanny ran out, saying to King Qigula:

“Thank you for caring so much for me. If you don’t change your bad temper, I’d rather stay in the lion’s stomach.”

“No, I will definitely change my bad temper! I won’t let you stay in the lion’s stomach…”

At that moment, an adorable, majestic little cat, resembling a small lion, ran out of the forest. The king’s nanny said:

“That fearsome lion was actually a cat transformed by my witch sister.”

From then on, the cute little cat followed King Qigula everywhere, constantly reminding him not to lose his temper again.
