Little Rabbit came to play by the lake.
The lake was covered with a large patch of lotus leaves, along with lotus flowers and seedpods.
Little Rabbit perked up his long ears, listening to the lotus leaves rustling and singing. Suddenly, he heard a splash, as if something had fallen into the lake. Little Rabbit got scared and shouted:
“Oh no, someone has fallen into the lake!”

“Thank you. I love eating fresh lotus seeds the most,” said Little Rabbit, carefully examining the seedpod in his hand.
“Then why don’t you peel it open and eat it right away?” asked the little frog.
Little Rabbit said, “I’ve counted. I have four friends, and each of them can get four lotus seeds from this seedpod.”
“You are very kind to your friends!” the little frog said as he picked four more seedpods from between the lotus leaves. “Now, you and your four friends can each have a whole seedpod.”
“Thank you,” said Little Rabbit, holding a large bunch of seedpods. “I’m so happy. Now I have five friends!”
