An Ant Crossing the Mountain

An ant said to a hedgehog, “Let’s climb over the mountain together and see the sea on the other side.”

The hedgehog also wanted to see the sea, so he agreed to the ant’s suggestion.

The ant and the hedgehog began climbing towards the mountain together.

As they climbed, the hedgehog went quite far ahead and got tired, so he rested on the hillside.

After a long time, the ant finally crawled to where the hedgehog was resting. Seeing the hedgehog resting, the ant did not stop but continued to climb towards the mountain.

The hedgehog climbed a bit more and caught up with the ant, panting, and said to the ant, “I can’t climb anymore. I don’t want to see the sea anymore. If I continue like this, I’ll exhaust myself halfway.”

The ant seemed not to hear the hedgehog’s words and continued to climb upwards.

The hedgehog, however, turned back and went the way he came.

Climbing, climbing, climbing, climbing, the ant finally crossed the mountain and saw the sea on the other side.

Persistence is like a protective talisman. Wherever you go, as long as you have it, no difficulty can stop you. Before giving up, you must first learn to persist and tell yourself: don’t quit halfway, breaking through the darkness leads to light.
