Mama Mole found a piece of bread. The bread was so big, Mama Mole couldn’t move it. She called Papa Mole, and together they hugged and pushed, and only with great effort did they manage to move the big bread to their doorstep.

The bread was big, but the door was small, so they couldn’t get it inside. What could they do? Mama Mole thought for a long time before coming up with a good idea: make it into a house for the little mole.

Papa Mole and Mama Mole carried the bread to an open space.

Mama Mole gnawed a hole in the bread to serve as a door, letting the little mole crawl inside.

The little mole slept in the bread house, with the floor and ceiling made entirely of bread. Whenever he was hungry, he just had to open his mouth and take a bite to eat some bread.

The little mole lived in the bread house, eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating, happier than anyone else.

The sun came out and shone on the bread house, making it very warm inside. The little squirrel came to call the little mole out to play, but the little mole said, “No, it’s too cold outside. I don’t want to go out. Look, inside my house, it’s like there’s a stove, it’s so warm and comfortable!”

The little mole stayed still in the bread house, growing into a big fat mole. But one day, it started to rain heavily. The rain soaked the bread house, turning it into a pile of mush. Mama Mole ran out and saw a “big mud ball” rolling around nearby. Oh! It turned out this “big mud ball” was the little mole!
